A new year begins, just like the warm light illuminating Great Wisdom Buddhist Institute's first completed building of its campus - "South Lotus Hall". We joyously invite 100 individuals to offer light to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as well the monastics diligently cultivating their practice in South Lotus Hall. You can make an offering towards one of the lights in the stone palace lanterns that will surround the South Lotus Hall. There are currently only 100 stone palace lanterns. Your name will be displayed prominently on the stone palace lantern. During the Lunar Year dharma ceremony, our monastics will dedicate merits to you. In addition, the name you provide for merit dedication will be recorded on Great Wisdom Buddhist Institute's monastic blessings list as illustrated by theMonastic Blessings offering item, for six months. The person will receive the merits from 1) the daily recital of the Prajñāpāramitā sutra by monastics, 2) offering monastic victuals eight times, 3) two grand offerings, 4) daily evening prayers, and 5) 49 light offerings each month. All offerings in excess of expenses incurred for the dharma ceremony will go towards the GWBI's Operating fund.
